Growing up as a young man in an underserved community in the greater Accra region of Ghana, having formal education was for many a luxury which only a privileged few could afford. Though I had enormous passion for learning, I often feared that my academic ambitions could be dashed considering my background and the setting I found myself. Regardless of this fear, I still had hopes that one day I would darken the door of a classroom. This dream came to light when one morning, my father summoned me to his room and announced that I would be going to school the next day. I thought I didn't hear him well, so I asked him what he had just said. He repeated and told me that it had always been his wish that I will have this opportunity someday. He informed me that my uniform was ready and I was eager to wear it. When I enrolled, I did not joke with my studies knowing my poor background and the fact that all eyes were on me to project the name of the family. Owing to my industry and the divine grace of God, I completed my elementary education with flying colors and I gained admission into one of the prestigious secondary schools in my country. At that level too, I did not relent and carried on with my studies with the same momentum and this yielded the needed results which took me to university. At the university, I read Bachelor of Education (Science) with Information Communication Technology as my minor. As part of this course or program, I read other courses like: School Management and Administration, Database Management System and Principles and Practices of Education, Professional Practices and Ethics in Teaching, Introduction to Guidance and Counseling, Health, Safety and Social Issues in Education , General Biology Theory and Practicals, General Physics Theory and Practicals and General Chemistry and Practicals and many others. My program of study included supported teaching which introduced me to the practical aspect of my program. In my final year, I did my research in this very area of teaching and was able to obtain several insights into the challenges of learning and teaching Science. I graduated in 2023 with flying colors. After graduating, I went on to take up some teaching positions in private institution(Darusalam School Complex) and through my experience, teamwork spirit, effective communication skills and Problem solving skills, I currently served as the headteacher of Darusalam School Complex and I go by the name SAMUEL OWUSU AMOABENG.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
