Farol Hotel results from the harmonious and eclectic fusion of a restored 17th century mansion. XIX, formerly belonging to the Count of Cabral. With a privileged location next to the Santa Marta Lighthouse, it has received illustrious visits such as King D. Carlos and Queen D. Amélia. In 2002, with the intervention of architect Carlos Dias, the place was transformed into an emblematic boutique hotel and became a member of the Design Hotels chain. Of the 33 apartments at Farol Hotel, eight were decorated by renowned European designers, such as Ana Salazar, António Augustus, José Antonio Tenente and João Rolo, each with their own particularities.
